Minister Li Visits Chery Egyptian Plant

On September 24 Egypt local time, accompanied by Cao Jiachang, counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese embassy in Egypt, Li Yizhong, minister of industry and information technology, headed a delegation to chery’s plant in Egypt. Leaders of Chery and the plant showed Li around and introduced the plant, briefing Li on the cooperation between the two sides. Li chose the plant as its first leg on the visit to Egypt, showing the great attention and support of the Chinese government to Chery’s overseas development.
 
Li first visited the production shop, listened carefully to the introduction of the production line, and cordially inquired about the cooperation between the two sides. After debriefing the Egyptian representative and Chery’s staff in Egypt, Li said Egypt and China are both nations with great ancient civilizations and developing countries, share the common economic objective and have close ties. There is a good cooperation and development prospect for both sides in terms of industrial development. If the two sides have positive cooperation conceptions, the Chinese government and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will give strong support. The cooperation between Chery and DME, Egypt is promising. Hopefully, the cooperation scale will keep going up to a new level on the basis of the existing market share. With the upturn in the living standards of Egyptian people, Egypt’s market capacity will enlarge constantly. While vigorously developing China-Egypt auto cooperation, Chery should focus on the products suiting local driving habits and road conditions, actively observe Egyptian laws and regulations, maintain the reputation of Chery and China, put product quality in the first place, serve Egyptian consumers through quality products and after-sale services, and constantly upgrade the overseas brand image of Chinese auto products.
 
Li said that he planned to meet with the Egyptian Minister of Industry on the visit to discuss the common concerns about China-Egypt industrial development, adding that the Chinese auto industry is innovative and Chery is an outstanding automaker of China, hoping that Chery will make more innovations and grow faster to keep abreast of advanced world auto standards.
